One of the first things you need to do to begin writing a story is to choose a topic. Choose 2-3 topics from the following list:
Birth of a Star
Microgravity
Death of a Star
Pulsars
Cassini-Huygens
SETI
Wormholes
Binary Star System
New Horizons
Types of Galaxies
Types of Stars
Extrasolar Planets
Big Bang
Evolution of our Solar System
Dark Matter
Dark Energy
Oort Cloud
Now, do a little reading about your topics. The websites below will be a good place to start. As you read, just think about the following questions (you don't have to answer them):
Am I interested enough in this topic to do more research?
Can I find enough information about this topic to make a children's book about it?
Where else can I find information about my topic?
Your Assignment: After you've chosen your topic, post a response that identifies your topic and includes 3 things you've already learned about it. Your post is due by Friday, 2/19/10 at 11:59 PM.
